GATEWAY TO INDUSTRY SCHOOLS PROJECT (GISP)

CALL FOR EXPRESSIONS OF INTEREST

GISP is seeking expressions of interest from QLD manufacturers in Fashion & Textiles. So often we hear about skills shortages in industry, about our ageing workforce and the threat of no new workers stepping up to fill these spaces. GISP is an exciting new project for QLD that will assist in building awareness and pathways into our industry for current high school students.

Our school teachers are well equipped and passionate educators but often don't have industry backgrounds. The goal for GISP for Manufacturing and Engineering Queensland is to support our educators by providing valuable access and information relevant to industry.

This is an opportunity for manufacturers to "give back" to industry by connecting with schools. By sharing with teachers and students, manufacturers are able to provide context, to communicate the plethora of employability opportunities, their stories and pathways within our industry. This value can be brought by offering site visits, sharing stories in the classroom, as well as many other ways to connect.

Gateway to Industry Schools are successful in transitioning tomorrows leaders into our industry, today.
