Here is a Recap of Who Will be Joining us:

Stephanie Henly

Stephanie Henly

Stephanie Henly is an Australian based designer specialising in finer detailing and hand crafted garments. The final year RMIT Fashion Student recently received Melbourne Spring Fashion Week's (MSFW) Emerging Student Designer Award for her 'Long-Stitch' collection, pieces of which will be on display at the expo.

Her latest project is a material exploration deriving forms from the application of the long stitch, challenging the traditional notion of embroidery as a flat decorated surface. Her intuitive process sees repetitive hand embroidery met with innovative methods of application and garment construction. The resulting forms on the body are both simple in their form and complex in their detailed textile manipulation.

At the centre of Stephanie's design practice is a value of handcraft and emphasis of skill preservation. Future collection and brand development will incorporate the hand crafted skills of artisans as a means of a collaborative design process.
