Join the Council of Textile & Fashion for our next Friday Afternoon Session!

This month we have several speakers from various industry backgrounds, talking on Emerging Businesses, funding opportunities and pathways in the Fashion sector. We'll also be opening the floor to a Q&A session and industry discussion. If you have an emerging business or are thinking of starting your own venture in the future, this is for you!

Charles W Parsons will be talking through the CP Ventures Innovation Fund, an amazing opportunity for emerging textile & fashion companies to find financial support and mentorship. Bron Belcher from Pozible will be talking though another unique way to make your projects happen - crowdfunding! Lastly Claire Goldsworthy will take you through her own experiences of stating a business, and outline the opportunities for emerging designers through The Fashion Advocate and ecommerce website The Dress Collective!

Bron Belcher | Partnerships & Communications at Pozible

Bron Belcher looks after partnerships and communications with Pozible, where she works with creators and supporters, community partners and corporate sponsors to make projects happen through crowdfunding. Before Pozible, she was a producer and program coordinator for a range of music and arts festivals around Australia. Her work has always focussed on collaborating to make creative ideas a reality.

Claire Goldsworthy | Founder & Director of The Dress Collective &The Fashion Advocate

Claire launched The Dress Collective, an Australian-made fashion ecommerce website, and The Fashion Advocate, a print magazine and digital blog dedicated to Australian fashion, in 2015. Through these platforms Claire promotes innovative Australian brands who stand to make a difference in the industry. Harnessing a digital audience of over 200,000 readers, visitors, fans, followers and subscribers across both businesses, The Dress Collective and The Fashion Advocate integrate with each other to communicate Claire’s ethos: “Buy less, choose well, shop local.”

Charles William Parsons | Group Managing Director at Charles Parsons

Charles William Parsons, Group Managing Director and great-grandson of the organisations founder came in to the family business in 2003, although he has been in and around the Group his whole life. Celebrating the company's Centenary, Charles Parsons have recently launched CP Ventures, an innovation fund for young talent who are involved in the textile related business and are looking for a Strategic Partner to assist them in further growing their business.
